Sanur Beach

Sanur beach is known for it’s laid-back atmosphere, golden sand and calm waters. Sanur beach is  Bali’s earliest beach resort and was a former fishing village. It has maintained it’s charm and relaxed coastal feel but the old world charm of the colorful fishing boats still remind you of it’s roots. It’s well placed for day trips around the South and north to Ubud. It stretches for about 5km along an east facing coastline with lush and green landscaped grounds of resorts. It’s a great beach to for families with small kids with calm clear water and small waves. Sun lounges are available for hire at the resorts. There are plenty of restaurants with a variety of food and prices. Loads of little bars and warungs if you feel like stepping away from the beach and browsing around.   The massages on the beach are very reasonably priced and a real treat. There are plenty options for those looking for a fancy hotel in the area and they all look over the Sanur beach with it’s golden sand… different from the volcanic sand on Seminyak beach. North Bali – Pemuteran and Menjangan Island

I have been coming to Bali for many years and am a huge fan of this diverse, and mystical island. However, as a keen surfer, I have tended to stay on the south and east coasts, lapping up the endless supply of world-class surf breaks, delicious cocunuts, cheap food and terrific accommodation that Bali has to offer. Luckily, on my last trip to Bali, my girlfriend was travelling with me, (also a keen surfer) and she suggested that we head up to the fabled Menjangan Island in North Bali to do a snorkeling trip. North Bali is far removed...
